Pissed at Best Buy & Lexmark

I just got home from Best Buy. I've heard great stories about them and their excellent customer service - well I think it sucks. I purchased a digital camera from them in July and was given a free printer (after rebate of course). Well I dutifully sent in my rebate 9 weeks ago, after no response I gave Lexmark a call. The sweet CSR informed me that they had not recieved the rebate and I would have to resubmit everything and wait another 8 weeks. So basically I'm suppose to wait 4 months for a $100 (cost of printer). I went into Best Buy today to speak to them about this, I ended up waiting 30 minutes in line, when I was called nobody apologized to me and then it took them 10 minutes to come up the idea of faxing a letter in for me saying that I did purchase a camera and I should recieve my money back. What a horrible experience. I will have to think twice before buying from Best Buy again. Oh, and I hate rebates, we as consumers have to stop excepting them - DOWN WITH REBATES!!.

NFL Sunday

Unfortunately I missed NFL Primetime with Chris Berman and was unable to see the NFL scoreboard. My new favorite team - the Bengals are 3-0, I am still a Patriots fan (glad they beat the Steelers) but they keep winning so I decided I needed a new team. I would also like to see the Browns do well this season too.

I have been a Pats fan since 1993 because back then I was in elementary school and thought they came from London, England. Feeling sorry for them because they had to travel so far to play I decided to cheer them on. People roll their eyes at me every time I tell this story - maybe I should stop.

I'm cheering for the Bengals because they haven't been to the playoff since 1990. I always go for the underdogs.

Word on the Street

I attended the Word on the Street Festival on Sunday afternoon, it was about literacy. I wanted to check out the Starting A Magazine seminar, which was informative and I also was able to meet with Mike Alexander of Media Hill Publications, publisher of Real Weddings and speak to him about my dream of starting a magazine. I told him that I also designed ads and had worked for Business in Vancouver - we exchanged business cards as he mentioned a need for a freelance ad designer at his company!

Fall TV

I have spent a fair amount of time this week sitting on the couch checking out new fall tv shows. So far I'm really liking EVERYBODY HATES CHRIS, THE OFFICE, TWO AND A 1/2 MEN, STILL STANDING, and NUMB3RS. I was disappointed by CSI and THE APPRENTICE, I don't know why but neither show could hold my attention. Looking forward to seeing WITHOUT A TRACE and COLD CASE this week - two of my favorite shows from last year.

Finally uploaded

I like to think that I was too busy to upload the pictures that I took from Calgary but really it was just me being lazy. You can check out the pictures at Flickr or by going to my website and clicking on Photos. Enjoy.

Amazing Magician

Just saw TLC's David Blaine Vertigo show

Profitable Night

Had a very fun and profitable night at the Casino last Friday with my buddy James. I don't know anything about blackjack but I invested $40 dollars in my friend and got back $200. A cool $160 profit in 45 minutes - I didn't even make that much working all day. Thanks James.

One Thumb Up

Just saw The 40 Year Old Virgin on Saturday - it is hilarious - a must see. Steve Carell (also co-wrote) is awesome as the virgin. I'm not surprised that it’s the No.1 movie in North America.
