"Imagine every day to be the last of a life surrounded with hopes, cares, anger and fear. The hours that come unexpectedly will be much the more grateful. Enjoy the present day, as distrusting that which is to follow."

Personal Legend
Currently reading THE ALCHEMIST by PAULO COELHO and have to say that the book is inspiring. The fable tells the tale of a boy that goes into the desert to seek a treasure. Inside the books are nuggets of wisdom about making choices, being clear about what you desire and not fearing failure. One aspect that has touched me the most is the personal legend part. How we have to work towards our destiny and find our calling (our personal legend). I highly recommend you buy the book and read over and over again - it is a classic.

"The long span of the bridge of your life is supported by countless cables called habits, attitudes, and desires. What you do in life depends upon what you are and what you want. What you get from life depends upon how much you want it—how much you are willing to work and plan and cooperate and use your resources. The long span of the bridge of your life is supported by countless cables that you are spinning now, and that is why today is such an important day. Make the cables strong!"

Mad Men
There is one word that describes this show about advertising men in the 1960s New York: wow. If you ever have a spare forty-eight minutes then I recommend you watch this attention grabbing drama. The art direction is inspiring, well written dialogue and phenomenal re-creation that era. To learn more about the show click HERE.

Thich Nhat Hanh
“People usually consider walking on water or in thin air a miracle. But I think the real miracle is not to walk either on water or in thin air, but to walk on earth. Every day we are engaged in a miracle which we don't even recognize: a blue sky, white clouds, green leaves, the black, curious eyes of a child -- our own two eyes. All is a miracle.”
Road Less Traveled
I had a great 2008 in terms of traveling. I visited more cities this year than I have over the past decade. I also had the chance to travel by car, plane, ferry and train. Here are my list of cities and towns visited over the past year in order: SEATTLE, DETRIOT, CLEVELAND, BALTIMORE, WASHINGTON DC, WINDSOR, HAMILTON, NIAGARA FALLS, TORONTO, VICTORIA, PORTLAND.
Winnie the Pooh
“If ever there is tomorrow when we're not together.. there is something you must always remember. you are braver than you believe, stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think. but the most important thing is, even if we're apart.. i'll always be with you.”

Barack Obama
"We need to steer clear of this poverty of ambition, where people want to drive fancy cars and wear nice clothes and live in nice apartments but don't want to work hard to accomplish these things. Everyone should try to realize their full potential."

Kahlil Gibran
“Your life is an island separated from all other islands and continents. Regardless of how many boats you send to other shores or how many ships arrive upon your shores, you yourself are an island separated by its own pains, secluded in its happiness”
Stillness Speaks
Currently reading STILLNESS SPEAKS by ECKHART TOLLE. The book is similar to his previous book POWER OF NOW. It is an easy read and my favorite section was about enjoying the present moment and letting go of the ego. Someone that as a guy I sometimes have issues with. If your read his previous books then there is nothing new here but if you have a spare hour I recommend this.
