"Your time is limited, so don't waste it living someone else's life. Don't be trapped by dogma - which is living with the results of other people's thinking. Don't let the noise of other's opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become. Everything else is secondary."

After the movie JAMES and I played a game of NHL07. It was another thriller, JAMES took an early 3-0 lead but I came back to win 7-6 in overtime. I’m currently leading the season series 4-2 and for some reason more proud of that than anything else I've accomplished this year.

"Security is mostly a superstition. It does not exist in nature, nor do the children of men as a whole experience it. Avoiding danger is no safer in the long run than outright exposure. Life is either a daring adventure or nothing."

Road Trip
We were both told that it would take five hours to get to there but with JAMES’S driving it only took four hours, and that doesn’t include us getting lost in HOPE and a thirty minute pit stop.
Once we arrived in KELOWNA we went Go-Karting, which we could do in VANCOUVER but because there are so many other things to do we don’t. The karting was fun, despite the both of us crashing, it was quite an adrenaline rush.
Across the street from the karting was a miniature golf course. Since neither of us had done it in a while, we thought it would be fun. JAMES played a solid game while my performance was disgusting. It took me four swings to get the windmill shot and JAMES, the show off that he is, hit a hole in one with his left hand.
The rest of the day was mediocre, besides a really hot “I’m sure those are fake” waitress at EARLS there wasn’t much to get excited about.
But overall I enjoyed the trip, just for the sack of leaving and being away for Vancouver it was worth it. Plus, going on a road trip is something JAMES and I have talked about forever and it was nice to finally do it.
Also, the trip did end on an even better good note for me. When we got back we headed to JAMES’S house and played a few games of NHL ’07. I beat him both times and I have to admit I wasn’t too impressed with his sore loser attitude, but regardless I’m up on my season series 3-2!

Itchy
Since this afternoon I’ve have been suffering from three mosquitoes bites (I should have called in sick to work but I decided to tough it out) and all of them are really itchy. While complaining to a co-worker about this today he told me this joke: What’s the difference between a SURREY GIRL and a mosquito? A mosquito will actually stop sucking after you slap it.

06/07
Despite this being the new NHL our first game was scoreless until the third period. I think this had to do with us both not knowing the new commands because there was a lot of awkwardness on that ice.
Unfortunately I should have called it a day but we decided to play two more games. Both games he won, the second was close at 6-4 but the third game he creamed me 4-0. My biggest concern was when I picked VANCOUVER for our second game and LOUNGO let in six goals on seventeen shoots - I hope this isn't an indication of things to come this season.
I do have to give credit to JAMES for playing with an injured finger. He played through the pain and won the last two games. Kudos to you my big white friend, kudos to you.

Training Camp
The training has been purely physical as I begin the day with finger stretches, knuckle cracking and squats (got to keep my ass lean for all that sitting).
I had a rough season last year, began with a lot of promise and close games but not a lot of W's. I hope this season will be different because I have a victory dance I've been dieing to perform.

Reunion
I really enjoyed the evening. It started off well with me beating JAMES in a game of NHL ’06. We played a few more games but the outcome isn’t important. I won the first game and that’s all I remember.
After MIKE arrived we headed out to SHARKS CLUB for dinner. The food was okay (I’ve had better chicken wings), the waitress was horrible and the bill almost gave me a heart attack - $63.00 for nachos, chicken wings and chicken strips with fries! It was highway robbery tell you.
The best part of the evening was when we headed to the local high school to shoot some hoops. We talked about old times - the good old days, back when we were teenagers and not tax paying citizens.
It was nice to reminisce, to poke fun at each other (me being on the receiving end most of the time) and just hanging out.
My mom asked me the next day what we did and I told her nothing. Which is true to an extent, but I’m sure when I’m an old man who can’t remember where he left his teeth I think back to that night, as the night I was in good company.

Old School Dialogue
This got me thinking about a nickname for myself. I wish a girl would come up to me at my high school reunion and say "Herman, Herman is that you, Herman Mahal who goes all night long." Oh that would be so cool - I would be a living legend.
