Final 4

Despite the fact that I can't pick a team to save my life I'm going to take another shot. My pick to win the NCAA TITLE is FLORIDA.

16 Blocks

I saw 16 BLOCKS on Tuesday night with my friend JAMES. I have to admit that I'm not a fan of BRUCE WILLIS but this was an overall good movie. Good pace, suspense and even a bit of comedy from MOS DEF. If you get a chance you should check it out.

Andrea

Despite being only 3 episodes into THE APPRENTICE I have decided my pick as the next one is ANDREA. I like her past as an entreprenuer and I think she was very calm, cool and creative as the project manager last week.

Ad Man

One of the greatest ad man of all time - GEORGE LOIS finally has a website. I have read 3 of his books (THE ART OF ADVERTISING, WHAT'S THE BIG IDEA? and SELLEBRITY) and anybody hoping to make a dent in advertising should study this guy.

True Story

My brother taped RADIO a couple of days ago and I finally got the chance to watch it. It is a great movie - I read the SPORTS ILLUSTRATED article many years ago and the movie with great acting from CUBA GOODING JR. and ED HARRIS really bring the story to life. Next time your wondering around the video store look for this movie.

Go Canada!

Like most Canadians I too have worried about CANADA'S play during these OLYMPICS as they seem to compete like an average hockey team. I will be cheering them on as they take on RUSSIA on Wednesday and hope the men will win back to back GOLD MEDALS like the women. GO CANADA GO!

On Gretzky

I'm glad that WAYNE GRETZKY is putting "OPERATION SLAPSHOT" behind him. I think its ridiculous how the media have gone after this guy; he has been nothing but great for the game of hockey and for CANADA. Click here to read his interview with SPORTSNET.

Happy New Year

Hope you all had a great 2005 and I wish you health, wealth and happiness for 2006.

Ill Week

Last week was one of the worst of my life. From Sunday to Saturday I spent it in bed sick with a sinus infection. It totally sucked. I wanted to spend the holidays relaxing and getting some major work done, instead I spent it coughing, sneezing and complaining about how I never get sick.

Anyways, I’m glad to have that over with. Even though I’m not a 100%, my doctor says I won’t be for about another week or two I can finally get back to work.

The Weekend

I had a pretty relaxing and laid back weekend for a change. I hung out Saturday afternoon with James. We watched THE LONGEST YARD starring ADAM SANDLER and CHRIS ROCK. It was a funny movie.

After the movie we played NHL 2006, both games James won (this happens often). The second game was a thriller tough; he beat me in the last 2 minutes (this happens often too). The game was also historical for us as we had a scoreless period.

Sunday morning was spent with family and the rest of the day was spent in front of the computer as I’m trying to get out of this current creative block that I’m in.

Tech Failure

This week was filled with technology failure. An e-mail account I have from HEMPTOWN didn't work all week so now I'm behind and on top of that my home computer was attacked with spyware.
Then on Saturday morning I woke up early to catch up on e-mails and my own personal account didn't work. I can't believe that I'm such a slave to technology.

So Proud

Man am I happy the BENGALS have won 10 games this season - they haven't done that since 1988. I hope they can continue this great play and go all the way this year - screw the COLTS.

What I Learned at Lunch

PENELOPE CRUZ likes crazy men because she went out with TOM CRUISE who has literally gone bonkers. The big question is “whose baby is KATIE HOLMES carrying?” Apparently CRUISE is gay which is why he had adopted kids with NICOLE KIDMAN who wasn’t carrying CRUISE'S baby when she had a miscarriage many years ago. Yes it really was an informative lunch break.

Craving

This afternoon I had a major craving for a TACO TIME and ended up ording their soft burrito. I tried to talk myself out of it many times but finally gave in to "you only live once so go for it" thought. That thought has gotten me into a lot of trouble but man was that burrito good.

I read that in a job interview, when your asked “do you have any questions?” you should have at least 2 prepared. Apparently if you say you don’t it leaves a bad impression with the interviewer.

Women Of The Year

I'm a big fan of GQ magazine and was glad to see that JENNIFER ANISTON was named GQ WOMEN OF THE YEAR - the issue hits newsstands on November 22. I felt sorry her when I saw her on OPRAH but then remembered with all the money she's made from FRIENDS she can buy a husband.

Gotta Ask

Tonight I was waiting for the bus when a cute girl stopped by and started having a conversation with me. In less than 5 minutes I knew where she worked, where she lived and what she did on the weekend. Was she flirting with me? I didn't know but after I left I regret not asking her for her phone number. ADVICE TO SELF: ASK FOR THE DIGITS.

Keeping Me Up

THIS IS A GREAT ALBUM - MY FAVORITE SONG IS NUMB/ENCORE

One Hour

After dragging my ass out of bed this morning at 10:15 I realized I could have slept an hour extra since the time on the Westcoast has gone back 1 hour. Now I feel the pressure in making use of that extra hour. Any suggestions?

Saturday, October 29, 2005

Wide Awake

I had trouble sleeping again Friday night, I went to bed at 8:00 pm and woke up at 11:00 pm and didn't fall back asleep until about 3:00 am. To make up for it I slept in this morning and woke up at 12:40 pm. I still don't feel 100% but as I mentioned in the last post, I'm already behind and my bank account will look pathetic if I don't get things done this weekend.

Bad Week

This week has been a complete write off for me. I spent most of it in bed, most of it tossing and turning and rest sneezing and sniffling. I think a 5-year old accomplished more than I did this week. I am so behind that it depresses me so I have decided to work my ass of this weekend, healthy or not healthy and get as much done as possible. In between I hope to use my camera (which I haven't used much since Calgary) and relax without guilt.

Lionzden Sticker

Wanna a LIONZDEN sticker? Please e-mail me with re: Lionzden.

Time Wasting

Today was kind of another waste of a day. I told myself last night that I was going to make use of the day but failed to do that. I am trying to work on LIONZDEN and get it out there but I keep procrastinating on making important phone calls or meeting certain people. To motivate myself I have decided on posting my goals on this blog. I got a lot of emails about my "TO DO LIST" so by popular demand I will try to post my daily journal. I would have written it earlier but I procrastinated.

NHL Slump

I am still struggling in FANTASY HOCKEY this season. I don't know what it is but mostly I'm killing by this time. I only have 70 points overall and am tied with JOSEPH, mostly I kill him by 20 points or more. If you haven't already, do sign in and compare your points with me. My screen name is psychoseven.

Film Buzz

50 CENT'S FILM DEBUT HITS THEATERS NOVEMBER 9th.

Pigskin Morning

I started my Sunday morning by watching the EAGLES vs CHARGERS game. It was an exciting finish, I was walking away from the t.v. when the field goal was blocked and the Eagles ran it in for a touchdown. After that I watched the 4th quarter of COWBOYS vs SEAHAWKS game. It also had great finish and again I walked away from the t.v.
But on a sad note the BENGALS lost to the STEELERS. I really wanted to see them win so they could show they are serious contenders.
Oh well, overall I found this weekend kind of a waste. I didn't really accomplish much and didn't have much fun. I'm the first admit that I need to use my time better, set and acheive more goals. I didn't have any real plans this weekend and that maybe why I didn't get anything done. Tune in next Friday for my TO DO LIST for the the weekend.

New Contract

I am happy to say that I will be busy working with HEMPTOWN CLOTHING as a freelance internet marketer. They call me the "web guy" but I'm not technical, I think in terms of clean design and information. It should be fun to work on and I hope to have that site looking good and taking orders in no time.

Noon Break

After a 9:00 am interview and getting posters printed up for DANGEROUS CURVES, I took the rest of the afternoon off and relaxed with James. We went out for a bite to eat and then played video games at his place. Things are back to normal as he kicked my ass in NHL 06 twice. But it was nice to hang out and just relax.

So Sad

The weather in Vancouver is beautiful today and that it makes me sad since I have to work all day. The things I do for a paycheque, sometimes I wonder if it’s worth it. Then I look at my bank account and realize it is.

Weekend Plans

I have a busy and hectic weekend ahead so this may be my last post until Monday. Here are my list of things to do: 1) Develop and design self promotion pieces 2) Revamp the overall look of the ASCEND SPORTMANAGEMENT website. 3) Create 5 new presentation icons for THE REVENUE BUILDER workbook. 4) Edit online portfolio and re-write 3 sections of my PERSONAL WEBSITE. 5) Design a trade show poster (not sure what size) for DANGEROUS CURVES. 6) Write marketing + web strategy; create mock up catalogue and retail signage for LIONZDEN.

Quake Relief

I have been watching with great sadness the devastation in PAKISTAN. It has been really sad seeing the result of this natural disaster. I applaud all those that are making a contribution and hope more will follow.

Back to Work

It was nice to have a relaxing weekend but I was back to work on Monday night working on a design project for DANGEROUS CURVES SLIMMING SALON. If you are a business person please learn to plan ahead, I had to design promotional pieces for a trade show 1 week away. From experience I notice a lot of business people don't look at their marketing plan months in advance. You should so people like me don't have rip our hair out at 2:00 in the morning.

Getting My Groove Back

My first week of Fantasy Hockey didn't go too well. I made some horrible picks or re-picks I should say, I first selected LUONGO and then for some stupid reason picked KHABIBULIN. Just thinking about it makes me sick. The lesson in this : go with your instinct. But it is the first week and I'm sure by the end of the month I'll have my hockey groove back.

The End

I was heartbroken when PALMER fumbled the football with less than 2 minutes to go causing my beloved BENGALS to lose a close one to the Jaguars. It is the end of their impressive 4-0 start.

The Best Producer in Hollywood

I just watched CLOSE TO HOME and have to say it was really good, it had me glued to the tv the whole hour. If you get a chance to watch it, do. The is produced from JERRY BRUCKHEIMER, who is my favorite producer because I spend at least 5 hours (CSI, WITHOUT A TRACE, COLD CASE, CSI NY, CSI MIAMI) watching his work a week. Critics may hate his work but it sells and he knows what the people want.

The Bengals are 4-0

As a designer I have to admit that I really love the team logo.
